Wet Blue Diary

I would like to share some of the macro pictures from my trip to Thailand. I will try to share them and give information about the species as much as I could.

We have spent 40 days in Thailand and Cambodia and I had a chance to dive in different locations in Thailand. The first one was Beautiful Simillan Islands. These pictures were from East of Eden dive sight (night dive).

Simillan Islands is northwest of Phuket. You can either go there from Phuket with daily tours (which I don’t recommend as it takes long time to get there) or you can go up north to the town where they take you to the Islands. Spending some time there, is a better way to experience the place.

I wish I had some more chances for night diving as I have encountered many nocturnal animals (night time lovers).Night diving gives great opportunities for photography and better light.

We spent one night and 2 days of diving in Simillan Islands (5 dives), great place and rich marine life.

The only dissapontment for me was not seeing any sharks or other big guys except for turtles but the richness of the marine life is stunning indeed.

Anemon balıkları (Palyaço balıkları-ClownFish) belkide bu gezegende en çok tanınan resif balığı. Bunda NEMO animasyonunun yararı çok oldu ama bu animasyondan öncede mercan resiflerine dalan, akvaryumları ziyaret eden insanların belkide en çok görmeyi istediği balıklardan biri. Palyaço balıkları, anemonların arasına saklanarak yaşamlarını devam ettiren balıklardır. Bu şekilde avcılardan korunurlar. Anemonların etrafından 1-2 metre kadar ayrıldıkları bile zor görülür. Palyaço balıkları dışında başka anemon balıklarıda vardır anemonların güvenliğinde yaşamakta olan. Fotograflara görülen tür Pembe anemon palyaço balığıdır.Anemonların arasında yaşayan canlılardn biride anemon yengecidir. Bu canlının güvenliği altında ilginç yelpazeleriyle mikroskobik canlıları yakalar.

 


Anemone fish (Clownfish) maybe the most well known reef fish on the planet. NEMO had a big deal on this, but before this animation movie there was great attention given to this magnificient fish by the divers and people visiting the aquariums. The aquarium hobbiests are crazy for these animals. Clown fish are living their life inside the anemones as for protection from the predators. They do not swim a meter away from the anemones as they are very shy. When threatened, they desert into the depths of the secure anemone animal. There are alot of different colors and species of anemone fish living inside anemones. There are also other types of animals live inside the anemones, one of them is Neopetrolisthes maculatus Porcelain Anemone crab. It uses its fans to catch microscobic animals.

TROPICAL REEF FISH

The fishes shown below are some types of Indian Ocean Fishes. They are all photographed with macro lenses. Most of these species are specific to Indian Ocean eventhough you can find similar species in other ocean, they are different species.

I dont have a reference for tropical fish so I am trying to find the species names from the net sources but, I will try to find the species names and common names of these fish soon.

TROPİK DENİZ BALIKLARI

Yukarıda arşivimde bulunan bazı tropik resif balıklarına yer veriyorum. Bu balıklar genellikle makro lesnlerle cekilmiştir. Bu balıkların çoğo hint okyanusuna özeldir, benzerlerine diğer okyanuslarda da rastlansa da, burada görülen türler çoğunlukla farklı türlerdir. Okyonuslar arasında balık simleri dahi değişmektedir. Burada tür ismilerini ve genel isimlere yer vermeye çalışıyorum ama bu konuda kaynaklarım kısıtlı. Internetteki kaynaklardan faydalanıyorum, isimleri olmayan balıkları bulduğumda bunlarında bilgilerine yer vereceğim
